This is a simple, straightforward, and highly effective procedure,
resulting in the overlying skin appearing smooth and crease free.It
gives a fresher and more youthful look by relaxing the tiny facial
muscles that cause frown lines and wrinkles. While you may notice
some results immediately, the full effect of Vistabel /BOTOX®,
along with the maximum wrinkle smoothing effect, will take a few
days. Typically, it takes from three days to a week before Vistabel
/BOTOX® will take full effect.
Results are visible within seven days of treatment
and, depending on skin type and condition, can remain effective
for up to six months.
Vistabel /BOTOX® is most frequently used to treat wrinkled
on the forehead, frown lines, and crow's feet at the outside corners
of the eyes.
Sagging, drooping skin cannot be corrected using Vistabel /BOTOX®.
Damage caused by the sun, such as leathery, wrinkled skin is also
not appropriate for treatment with Vistabel /BOTOX®. Your plastic
surgeon will advice you accordingly.
Women who are who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not have
Vistabel / BOTOX® treatment. People who have neurological diseases
should not use Vistabel/ BOTOX®.
You are required to avoid alcohol for at least one week prior to
your Vistabel/ BOTOX® treatment. Anti-inflammatory medication
like aspirin or ibuprofen should be avoided two weeks before your
Vistabel/ BOTOX® treatment. This is to reduce bruising.
The Vistabel/ BOTOX® procedure takes only a few minutes. No
anesthesia is used, nor is any required. Generally, people feel
minor discomfort at most.
You should not rub or massage the treated area for at least twelve
hours after your Vistabel /BOTOX® injections. You will also
be instructed not to lie down for three to four hours after your
Vistabel/ BOTOX® treatment. This is to keep the toxin from moving
to an area other than where it is supposed to be.
You can expect the effect of your Vistabel /BOTOX® treatment
to last anywhere from four to six months. As acetylcholine production
returns to normal, your muscles will once again begin to contract
and the wrinkles will reappear. That's the bad news. The good news
is that your wrinkles may be less prominent after Vistabel /BOTOX®
treatment because your muscles may be somewhat "trained"
to be in the more relaxed state.
As the wrinkles reappear, you will have to have repeat Vistabel
/BOTOX® treatments to get them to disappear again.
The most common side effect of Vistabel /BOTOX® treatment is
temporary bruising. Another side effect is headaches, however this
is a rare occurence. If headaches do occur, they are usually gone
within 24 to 48 hours.
Potential Vistabel
/BOTOX® Complications:
A small percentage of patients
develop eyelid drooping. If
eyelid drooping does occur,
it is usually gone within three
weeks. The eyelid drooping is
caused by migration of the Vistabel
/BOTOX® from the treated
area to an adjacent area. This
is why you shouldn't rub the
treated area for at least twelve
hours after your Vistabel/ BOTOX®
procedure and why you are told
not to lie down for three to
four hours after treatment.
